A presentation of the book “Statue of Time” by the outstanding Uzbek literary figure, People’s Poet of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan, Sirajiddin Sayyid, was held at the Natavan Club of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union.
At the presentation ceremony, well-known writer and publicist, Editor-in-Chief of the international magazine “My Azerbaijan”, and academician of the International Academy of Sciences, Emil Nasirli, presented Sirajiddin Sayyid with the Golden Order “Friend of Azerbaijan,” established by the magazine, along with a certificate of honorary membership.
Emil Nasirli noted that the Editorial Board of the international magazine “My Azerbaijan” awarded Sirajiddin Sayyid this honor for his contribution to strengthening friendship, brotherhood, and mutual solidarity between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and unanimously elected him an honorary member of the magazine.
In his speech, Emil Nasirli emphasized that Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan share friendly and partnership relations with deep historical roots. The Azerbaijani and Uzbek peoples are connected by a common culture, belonging to the same linguistic family, as well as shared religious values and national traditions. These ties are reinforced by history and genetic memory. In recent years, relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have continued to strengthen. Today, strategic and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, covering all spheres, is deepening further and forming a solid foundation for the development of bilateral relations. Overall, Azerbaijani-Uzbek ties, based on common origin and centuries-old history, are dynamically developing in line with the realities of the modern era.
Speaking about Azerbaijani-Uzbek literary relations, Emil Nasirli highlighted that notable features of mutual literary and cultural interaction during the period of independence include the synthesis of traditions from two literary environments in the work of a single author, as well as the role of the same ethnic community living in both countries as a cultural “bridge” between the peoples. These phenomena attract attention as new forms of expression not only in Azerbaijani-Uzbek literary ties but also in broader literary and cultural interaction. This provides valuable material for deepening the theoretical foundations of literary relations and expanding their scope. The book “Statue of Time” by Sirajiddin Sayyid, presented today, is also a new contribution to the development of literary ties between the two countries.
Emil Nasirli also noted that the historically strong ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in all areas, including culture, will continue to develop and be enriched.
In turn, Sirajiddin Sayyid thanked the members of the Editorial Board of the international magazine “My Azerbaijan” for electing him an honorary member and awarding him the Golden Order “Friend of Azerbaijan.”
Emphasizing the importance of relations between the two countries, especially in the humanitarian sphere, Sirajiddin Sayyid noted that humanitarian cooperation is highly valued. This is quite natural, as the two peoples are brotherly and close. “We deeply appreciate Azerbaijani literature, music, and culture,” he said.
The presentation of Sirajiddin Sayyid’s book “Statue of Time”, held at the Natavan Club of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union, was attended by prominent Azerbaijani writer, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union and People’s Writer of Azerbaijan Anar; People’s Writer of Azerbaijan and First Secretary of the Writers’ Union Chingiz Abdullayev; member of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Javanshir Feyziyev; Secretary for International Relations and Translation Issues of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union, well-known poet and translator Salim Babullaoğlu; well-known writer and publicist, Editor-in-Chief of “My Azerbaijan” magazine and academician of the International Academy of Sciences Emil Nasirli; Director of the “Encyclopedia” publishing house and academician of the International Academy of Sciences Fikret Nagiyev; as well as other public figures and representatives of science, education, and culture.
